Rolf and Raphaela Maibach realised at their first stay at Hopital Albert Schweitzer, Haiti, that short-term volunteer work was not an option for them.
Following this realization, they founded the Bundner Partnershaft (Bundner Partnership)Hopital Albert Schweitzer Haiti, or BPHASH, in July 1997

The goal of BPHASH is to help the people of Haiti to develop the skills to take charge of their own destiny.
